JAY BLACK
Jay Black is a Sound Designer from Houston, Texas with experience in both theatre and film. Their credits at Columbia College Chicago include Sound Designing for bones, The Bluest Eye, and How the Light Gets In, along with various film projects. Professionally, they have worked for the Pittsburgh Festival Opera in various audio and designing positions. Their design interests include music editing and production and the creation of layered and atmospheric soundscapes. They particularly enjoy working on period pieces and projects that challenge traditional storytelling.
Jay will be graduating from Columbia College Chicago in December 2024, with a BFA in Film and Television. They also enjoy exploring different ways to stretch their creative muscle through crocheting, writing short stories, attempting to learn how to play the bagpipes.
